| Jericoacoara is a place to practice sports mainly to those directly related with the wind. Due to its location, far west of the state of Ceará, Jeri receives trade winds coming directly from Africa and for not having any obstacles during his way hit the Ceará coast with full power.
These winds blow all year round, but with greater intensity between the months of July to December may extend the January and February, very good period for the sailors. At that time the winds can reach speeds of 40knots, during the gust, and average between 23 and 30knots, almost daily.
Given the geography of the Ceará coast, especially the place and its surroundings, the conditions for sailing winds ranging from the SIDE-ON SHORE to SIDE-OFF SHORE winds, depending on the place where you are sailing. The main beach has winds Side Off-Shore very good for practicing windsurfing, Now Prea and Guriu beaches have sailing conditions as Side On-Shore and Shore Side respectively, ideal for KITESURF.

Kitesurf – there are many spots to kitesurf in the practice of Jeri and environment providing ideal conditions from beginners to advanced. For the more adventurous there are the famous Kitesurfaris, travel to different locations and conditions for sailing around the Ceará.

Windsurf –for windsurfing lovers Jericoacoara is a full plate. You are able to go sailing from "flat water" to waves and winds ranging from 23 to 30 knots almost every day during the season. The best season for waves is between November and February, reminding that in January and February the winds are not as strong and constant.

Surf- mainly between the months of December to April, when the waves hit the coast cearense with greater intensity and the winds are weaker. The conditions offered in Jeri are deal for beginners and Long Board.

Sandboad –Sunset Dune is ideal for practicing the sport with approximately 30 meters in height. Other dunes in Parque Estadual de Jeri but their access is done in buggies because their distance.
